Why is Going Green Important to Your Company & How Has Your Company Gone Green?
Whether it’s installing energy efficient light bulbs, purchasing fuel efficient vehicles for our fleet, or obtaining chain of custody certifications, Reprodux is striving to be ‘greener’ in all facets of the business.
In 2008, Reprodux obtained FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certifications. Chain of Custody (CoC) certification is the process of tracking and recording the possession and transfer of wood and fibre from a certified forest through the different stages of production – primary manufacturer, secondary manufacturer, wholesaler, and retailer – and to the end user. In achieving this status, Reprodux joins a growing community of companies, land-owners, and social and environmental organizations committed to improving forest practices on a global scale.
Engineering Supply and Imaging's commitment to being green within their printing services department includes the following:
We have used Azon recycled bond for over 3 years with great success. Our customers appreciate our efforts as the amount of paper printed and recycled is enormous.
All small and large format b/w printing is done on recycled bond
All our binders are printed on recycled bond
Many of our large clients require us to provide them with recycled bond which we gladly do.
One of our largest clients prints a watermark that states that all documents are being printed on recycled bond.
We actively promote our online document distribution solutions as an alternative to printing hard copy documents.
Many of our large format recycled bond is converted into scratch pads for internal use.
Some of our marketing pieces speak to our efforts and the efforts of our clients in greening our print solution.
It is Cylix's corporate responsibility to be green. Every person and every corporation must do their part to minimize their footprint on the environment. I believe it is a moral imperative that I be able to say that we do our part to minimize our negative impact on the environment.
That is why we:
use electricity only from wind generation (via Renewable Choice);
make our products from post-consumer recycled materials whenever possible;
use post-consumer recycled paper in our office;
recycle all of our office and production waste (paper, plastic, metal, etc.);
offer green alternative products whenever possible;
use thermostats that conserve energy at night;
have the highest SEER rated HVAC units we can get;
use energy star appliances and equipment whenever possible; and
drive a hybrid vehicle.
We must all do our part as responsible corporate citizens.
