Friends, Not Adversaries!
|
A few weeks ago, the IRgA concluded an extremely successful convention and trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada. There were a total of 1007 attendees, including 544 reprographers and 368 vendors. The rest of the registrants were guests, trade press and staff.
Among the attendees were 58 exhibiting companies. What's most relevant is the ratio of reprogaphers to vendors at the trade show was 1.48 to 1, which perhaps is the best in show history.
The new format was a huge success! Running the educational sessions and trade show separately, encouraging exhibitors to attend the educational sessions and networking activities, and increasing the number of networking opportunities created more interaction and discussion. |

The IRgA exists because of the strong financial support of the reprographics vendor community. Membership dues from reprographers pay for member services such as industry research, production of the News Digest, development and maintenance of the website and our educational offerings. However, dues alone do not keep the doors open. The IRgA is financially stable in large part because 45 percent of the association's revenue is derived from the vendor community. Viewed from the expense perspective, associate members suppport the production of REPRO REPORT, the Membership Directory and administrative expenses. Additionally, business from the trade show supports the costs of delivering the educational programming.
Speaking from the main stage, Convention Chair Mike Carter encouraged reprographers to support those vendors who support the IRgA. Every reprographer has a responsibility to know what products, services and solutions are available within our marketplace. It is through relationships with those in our vendor community that this happens. The products and services they provide help your business grow, prosper and deliver on your promise to customers. Next time they call, please be sure to thank our IRgA associate members for their support. After all, they are our friends!

Feature
Dealing With Communication Technology
By Debra Thompson
Your business depends on employees being savvy with computers and the Internet to interface with your customers and to process their orders.
Unfortunately, employees may have a tendency to misuse these tools in ways that affect productivity, and that misuse may actually create a liability for your business. Instantly, an employee can send offensive, harassing, defamatory, confidential or proprietary information leaving your company's electronic thumbprint. Managing this technology and its use must be a major focus for the reprographer.
The full article on this subject will appear in the July/August
2005 issue of REPRO REPORT.
