2nd Webinar Announced for November 8
|
Building on the momentum created in July when the IRgA introduced its first industry-wide webinar, the association again will come to the offices and conference rooms of reprographics shops and industry vendors in November - FREE to member companies.
The session being held Wednesday, November 8 will be on "Maximizing Your Effectiveness within the Reprographics Industry with Adobe 8," presented by Tim Huff, Senior Vertical Product Specialist-AEC, of Adobe Systems Inc. The webinar will broadcast 11:00 am-12:30 pm Central Time. Several friendly reminder messages containing additional details will be sent through the News Digest distribution list.

In addition to November 8, the IRgA will hold webinars, tentatively scheduled for the first Wednesday of the following months in 2007: February, June, September and December. The Education Committee is currently working with industry experts to develop content for these programs.

Executive Director |
The July and November 2006 webinars focus on technology; beginning in January, the emphasis will shift to topics related to operational efficiency - the number one educational need identified in the IRgA's recent Educational Needs Assessment Survey. Click here for survey results.
"The guiding principle of the IRgA's education program is to deliver value by doing a few things great," said John Cronin, chair of the Education Committee. "Our aim is to align offerings so there is continuity between the webinars and the convention program," he said.
For the time being, the webinars are being offered free to IRgA member companies as a means to build value in association membership, as well as to enhance the quality of education offered. "We feel that there is value to owners for the IRgA to bring its education on the road and deliver it directly to the reprographics shops," said IRgA President Mike Carter, President and COO of Lynn Imaging in Lexington, KY.
The IRgA recently concluded its annual membership dues renewal period. Only those companies that renewed their membership or joined the association will be eligible for the free offering. Recognize that several companies sign up their main locations for membership but not their branches. Non-members may sign up for $100 - still a good deal, especially when you consider that the average number of participants per site is four.
For most member companies, participating in the webinars alone brings value equal to or exceeding their annual dues investment. If you missed the first webinar on DWF, be sure to sign up someone, or multiple employees, from your shop to take part in the IRgA's November webinar on PDF!

Feature
Your Value Proposition is Valueless
Why you need to sell like a change agent
By Rick Farrell
Whether you call it value-based selling, feature and benefit selling or value proposition selling, this sales method has severe limitations. Companies that have successfully relied on this method for years to differentiate themselves from their competition, translate their value, maintain their margins and prevent commoditization are now finding that it is backfiring. The irony is that the very thing they work so hard to prevent (commoditization), they are actually creating.
