Nominations Open for the Prestigious Bukovsky Award
Now is the time to submit your entries for the 2008 Bukovsky Award, our industry's highest honor.

The Bukovsky Award honors the memory of George K. Bukovsky, who worked in the reprographics industry for more than 30 years. During his long career, he was actively involved in the IRgA and worked to further the industry. The award was established after his death in 1990 to honor his outstanding contributions, and in 2007, the IRgA will celebrate 16 years of recognizing individuals, reprographers and vendors who have also made a lasting impact on the industry. There are several well-deserving candidates, so don't be shy.

Nominate a friend or colleague today. Nominations are due by Jan. 31, 2008. Click here for award criteria and a nomination form.

Make a Difference and Volunteer!
The IRgA Nominating Committee requests submissions for consideration to serve on the association's 2008-09 Board of Directors. If you, or an IRgA member you know, have the interest and ability to serve in this strategic leadership capacity, now is the time to inform the Nominating Committee of your candidacy.

To be considered for Board service, a candidate must be employed by an IRgA member company in good standing. Directors serve three-year terms, and vendor directors serve two-year terms. No officer or director shall receive any salary or other compensation for their services.

The Nominating Committee's charge is to recommend as many candidates from the membership as there are officer and/or director vacancies to fill.

The Nominating Committee will meet in early 2008 via conference call to discuss potential director candidates and to determine the 2008-09 slate. The slate will be announced in the April News Digest and presented to the IRgA membership for election at the Annual Business Meeting in May at Paris Las Vegas.

To be considered, please contact Nominating Committee Chair Mike Carter, Lynn Imaging, at 859/255.1021 or mcarter@lynnimaging.com.

For more information about the nominating and election process, refer to the IRgA Bylaws. As always, you may also contact the headquarters office at 800/833.4742 or info@irga.com with any questions.

HP to Demonstrate Consolidated Range of Wide-Format Printers at FESPA Digital
HP announced its plans for FESPA Digital '08, which include stand space commitment, key product announcements, and its continued position as corporate sponsor of the exhibition and of the Digital Print Awards.

HP's product showcase will be demonstrated on stand D30, as well as on partner stands, and features a full range of digital solutions designed to help print service providers (PSPs) evolve their business strategies to meet changing industry demands.

For the first time in Europe since the acquisition of MacDermid ColorSpan in September 2007, HP will be presenting a consolidated range of UV-curable inkjet printers, designed to enable sign shops, quick printers and other small to mid-size sign-making and screen-printing businesses to product high-quality cost-effective display graphics.

Through the acquisition, HP plans to provide lower-cost platforms and UV technologies to PSPs that are expanding into printing on rigid output, including POP displays, 3D POP stands, in-store promotions, open-box packages and displays. In this way the acquisition furthers HP's Print 2.0 strategy to digitize analog prints by extending the company's overall digital content creation and publishing platform.
