The IRgA Board of Directors is the governing body of our association, and every year the composition of the board changes somewhat. Historically, board members have served two or three years, unless they enter the executive leadership ladder, in which they eventually become president of the board.
The current board -- Hiram Russell (president), John Lipari (immediate past president), Tom Taubenheim, Carter Crisp, Tyler Langdon, and Joseph Szobody (vendor representative) -- has guided the association through a period of growth and stability, and it is likely that the make-up of the board will stay approximately the same. Russell will run for a second year as president, and John Lipari and Joseph Szobody will run again to remain board members. The other board members do not need to be re-elected this year.
However, we invite other members to join the board! If you are interested in helping the association continue on its path of growth -- especially as we approach the 100 birthday year of 2027 -- please consider running for a board position. Board responsibilities include attending the bi-monthly Zoom meetings and one in-person meeting per year, plus providing input on committees or other assignments. Click here if you would like to nominate yourself or someone else.
The formal board election will happen during the board's December Zoom meeting on December 3. If you would like to attend the meeting, email Managing Director Ed Avis, ed.avis@irga.com, and he'll send you an invitation.
