We were saddened to learn of the passing of Ute Migdal, an important part of the team at the German reprographics association, motio. Frau Migdal handled key financial and membership tasks for the association, with which IRgA is closely related. She also was a familiar, friendly face to anyone who attended a motio conference, including the IRgA group that attended the motio conference in 2018.
The IRgA extends its condolences to Frau Migdal’s colleagues and family.
Here is the note we received regarding her passing:
On Friday, September 4, 2026, our dear colleague Ute Migdal passed away at the age of 64 after a long and serious illness.
With her passing, we have lost a valued colleague who served as a reliable and cherished member of our Frankfurt office team for more than two decades.
From her first day on the job on January 2, 2004, the Frankfurt native—who succeeded Gertrud Sendner—was responsible for finances and membership administration for the trade association, FMI e.V., and go4copy.net eG. At the annual conferences, she was the heart and soul of the motio network in the conference office, often supported by her husband Reinhard. Always helpful, dedicated, and reliable, she contributed to the success of countless events. Even at her vacation home in Friesland, she checked her email daily and was always available to us, no matter where she was. Despite reducing her working hours due to illness, she continued to work for us over the past two years.
Ute Migdal leaves a great void. We will remember her fondly and with gratitude. We will miss her dedicated commitment and her warm personality.
