Callprint Regional Manager Gavin Craddock
Now celebrating the one year anniversary of their relocation within Birmingham, England, Callprint has announced that it is embarking on a recruitment drive and is actively investigating new equipment for its 12,000sq. Ft. facility hub.
Having previously been based in the City centre at Suffolk Street Queensway, the new site is located adjacent to the Aston Expressway and near the M6 motorway. Sales Director, Fabian Porter said, “The move has proved hugely beneficial for the Birmingham facility and its Midlands-based clients, and also for the Callprint group as a whole.”
“The demand for our services has increased and productivity is up. The move has enabled us to work on larger national group wide projects, whilst continuing to provide a second to none service within the Midlands Region. The additional size and scale of our premises has allowed us to actually construct an event or exhibition stand prior to dispatch, and therefore we can build and quality check everything before it goes on site.”
Fabian continued, “Now that we have a drive-in area, we have cars, vans and even lorries coming in to have new livery, vehicle wraps or decals applied, all of which we couldn’t do at the previous site. Also, we are in a strong position to help with any overflow workload from our other locations within the group, plus we are now producing work for Jupiter Visual Communications.” (Jupiter is a wholly owned division of the Callprint Group, which specialises in visual branding solutions).
With dedicated areas, including pre-press, reprographics, wide format, finishing and packing, the Birmingham hub manages its workload from the design stage through to the finished ready to deliver product. New equipment is also being looked at to add to the facility, with the focus being on the flatbed and wide format areas.
The Hub currently operates an 18 hour double-day shift pattern. With the new machinery planned and the productivity and increased output that this will deliver, the site will look to become a 24 hour facility in the very near future.
“As we are now settled in, we are embarking on the second stage of our plan, which is a recruitment drive. We are looking for junior and senior personnel in sales and account management with the focus being on the wide and large format sector,” Fabian added.
Callprint are looking to fill apprentice positions in both sales and account management, underlining its commitment to future development. Fabian revealed that the location had already added to its staff, including estimating, administration and account management personnel, which had resulted from the increase in workload and new clients being added following the move.
Regional Manager, Gavin Craddock stated, “It’s been a brilliant year! The move has not only been hugely beneficial to our clients, but it’s also caused a real buzz within our Birmingham team. The move was a huge undertaking, and the guys have all pulled together and enabled us to get through it, so we feel very much at home now. There is a real team spirit within Birmingham, and the move has only made this stronger. I believe our move shows that Callprint are truly committed to the future, and it makes a real statement of intent to both clients and staff that we will continue to be among the leaders in the Print and wide format world. It’s a real game changer.”
