National Reprographics ("NRI") is changing its name to BluEdge as part of an extensive rebranding initiative. The new name reflects the company's evolution into a leading technology provider, and embodies its vision for the future. This new, next-generation brand identity reaffirms BluEdge as an innovator in customer service, an industry leader in print technology and document management solutions, and a progressive purveyor of expanded 2D and 3D solutions.
Founded in 1898 as National Blueprint Company, a local New York blueprint firm, today the company has established a global footprint and serves an array of industries with a wide range of products and services. According to Doug Magid, NRI's president and the fourth generation of family to lead BluEdge, "Just as we have changed our company name over the decades to reflect new realities, the time has come for us to rebrand entirely, to better express who we are today."
BluEdge reached out to branding agency Bernhardt Fudyma Design Group to update the company's name and sharpen its image. After a year of intense client and employee interviews and design collaboration, the agency delivered a new logo mark, a reset of the tagline, and a complete website redesign. The overall goal was to unify all the current business units, including its Rethink Color brand, under a single, dynamic brand.
The BluEdge name evokes the company’s past while connecting it to its future. "Blu" represents its traditional roots in blueprinting, while "Edge" evokes its commitment to innovative technologies. The tagline "Pixels. Particles. People." also bridges past and present. "Pixels" refers to BluEdge's deep roots in the world of digital; "Particles" speaks to the company's legacy of craftsmanship in both 2D and 3D printing; and "People" reflects its most important resource and differentiator.
BluEdge's online address will change to www.bluedge.com. The website has a modern and clean user interface, and fewer clicks to the most requested site content. Just as important, users can look forward to expanded content and client support options, such as a BluHub, a single portal that contains various client applications.
BluEdge may be a new name, but will never change its commitment to upholding the practices and principles on which it has built its reputation: being a trusted technology partner and a dedicated customer service leader.
