Image Access has introduced several important improvements to its WideTEK line of wide-format scanners. The enhancements include:
- The WideTEKs now all have a large WVGA color touchscreen.
- They scan even more gently, due to special transport rollers that serve as pressure points ensuring safe document transport.
- The new and unique background drum does not touch the glass plate at any time, avoiding scratches and document skews. To achieve extra contrast on sepias and film based documents, the standard black drum can be exchanged with a white drum, without needing any tools.
- Speed has increased. The fastest color scanning is 14.2 inches per second (21.6 m/min) at 200 dpi.
- The WideTEKs now also feature wireless scanning through Scan2Pad®. Image Access scanners are only wide format scanners in the world with a built in hot spot. Walk up, connect your pad and scan without leaving any traces on a local computer or in the cloud.
- A new, universal multifunction stand is available for all of the WideTEKs (including the CIS modules).
The WideTEKs are offered as a repro bundle as an option, which includes the Universal Multi Function Stand with monitor, Foot Switch, Batch Scan Wizard and 12 months Full Coverage Warranty. List price for the WideTEK 36 repro bundle is $13,490 (list price for the scanner alone is $11,490). List price for the Universal Multifunction Floorstand for a WideTEK 36 is $1490.00 so customers who already own a WideTEK can purchase the floorstand separately. Prices vary slightly depending on the scanner model.
