A full program with a dozen speakers and 20 exhibitors awaits the participants of the motio network days in Göttingen, Germany, March 20-21.
The organizer is the Copy & Media Technology Association, which was founded in 1913 and has recently been joined by the Association for Multimedia Information Processing (FMI). The joint brand appearance takes place under “motio network for media communication.”
APDSP Managing Director Ed Avis will be attending the meeting. If any other member would like to join him, please contact him at ed.avis@apdsp.org.
In his invitation, chairman Heiko Schmalfuß promises: “We offer lectures, talks, exhibitions, castle parties and a tour of the old town. But the most important thing is the opportunity to get to know industry colleagues, i.e. from entrepreneurs with similar topics, concerns and ideas. Especially in the motio network, the company owners develop a special trust among each other, the basis for the exchange of experience and for cooperation. Many members have appreciated this for years.”
Motio managing director Achim Carius is also proud of this industry event: “Non-members and interested parties are also cordially invited to this event. All exhibitors, including major suppliers such as Canon, KIP, Image Access, Zeutschel, IGEPA, este-Folding, HP / Kisters, Modico, Netcontrol, Bernschein Solutions, DEUDAT and others, are represented.”
The event will begin with presenter Caroline Bosbach, who will ask 10 questions of Canon manager Thomas Haep, head of the Production Printing Products division, in which digital high-performance printing systems and large format printing systems for production printing are marketed.
Frank Oswald, a business economist, will give a talk under the title “Digital Processes in Crafts and Service Operations.” Oswald, owner of a craft business with 30 employees, will show that small companies can also benefit from digital technologies: "The introduction of digital processes has made us significantly more efficient and productive."
Peter Jeschke, Managing Director GC Graphic Consult GmbH will present a speech under the heading “Management of digital printing and scanning companies: food for thought for strategy optimization.”
A special motio member will also be presenting at the conference under the title “3D Printing in B2B is booming.” Herbert Schicketanz, managing partner of thinkTEC 3D GmbH and Kopierzentrum Passau GmbH (xlprint24), is now one of the most successful 3D printers in additive manufacturing.
Andreas Lorenzer, Canon Marketing Manager TDS & Oliver Grahl, Canon Solution Business Consultant TDS, will report on “Optimizing the order workflow in the print service.” A program is presented that breaks new ground from incoming orders to processing the print volume. The software revolutionizes the order workflow on all levels. It provides an overview of the order intake and order status of print orders in large and small format. Order data are transferred directly to the accounting system.
“Current information on the General Data Protection Regulation” will be the topic of Mario Arndt, Managing Director of DEUDAT GmbH, data protection and information security. This is about a GDPR update, the inspection in operation by supervisory authorities and impending fines.
Dr. Bernd Wild, head of Intarsys in Karlsruhe, will provide the conference with an update to the Technical Guideline for Legally Safe Scanning (TR-RESI-SCAN). Prof. Dr. Wolfram Horstmann, Director of the State and University Library Göttingen, will discuss his innovative "digital library." Hakan Usakli will present Easy-Plot-Desk and their workflow software. He and his product are an absolute rediscovery in the industry. Harald Hensle will present innovations to his software, Digitalarchiv Starfinder.
Under the overall roof of the motio network days the following groups of the industry will meet on different topics: Wirtschaftsverband Copy & Media Technology eV (motio network) with 150 members at 250 locations in Germany and Austria, the 30 companies comprehensive cooperative association go4copy.net eG ( g4c), as well as the Media Print Partner eG (mpp) cooperative and the FMI group in the motio network, which emerged from FMI eV a year ago. The managing director of the North American colleague association APDSP Ed Avis from Chicago also arranged visits to companies in the USA and Canada and an exchange of experiences with the North Atlantic colleagues during the conference.
