The IRgA Index barely budged during the fourth quarter of 2015, but it remains well above 50, which means business is still growing. The Index stood at 56 for services to AEC businesses, compared to 57 in the third quarter of 2015 and 59 in the fourth quarter of 2014. And it stood at 72 for services to non-AEC markets, exactly the same as its position in the third quarter or 2015. During the fourth quarter of 2014 the index for services to non-AEC markets stood at 68, so growth is accelerating year-over-year in that category. Any number over 50 indicates growth.
The third quarter 2015 Index was based on a survey of IRgA members sent in November. Fifty-six reprographics shop members answered the survey. Of the respondents, 20 reported growth in their AEC business over the previous quarter, compared to 14 who said it went down. For non-AEC business, 29 reported growth, compared to 5 who saw a decline.
Specific details about the survey, such as a geographic breakdown and a detailed breakdown by type of job, will be emailed to respondents who completed the survey and Bronze, Silver, and Gold members. Look for the next survey in May.
