Herb Mathias, Jr.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Herb Mathias, Jr. a true friend of IRgA, APDSP's predecessor organization. Mathias passed away on Thursday, June 21, at age 89.
"I have clear memories of Herb's advice to me when I first came to work at IRgA in 1992," says APDSP Managing Director Ed Avis. "His generosity, kindness and deep understanding of the association and the reprographics industry were instrumental in my early career in the field. He was a wise man who cared deeply about reprographics, and he will be missed."
Mathias was the president of IRgA in 1970-71, and he given the Bukovsky Award, the
association's highest honor, in 1996. He was the president of his family's blueprinting firm, Mathias & Co. in Pittsburgh, for many years.
