Do you think your business is doing well…or poorly…or somewhere in between? The best way to know is to compare key business metrics to others in your industry. That’s why APDSP is undertaking the 2021 APDSP Reprographics Operating Ratios Study.
“The study is important because it allows you to compare yourself to your peers,” says Mitch Evans, managing partner of Graphic Arts Advisors, the consulting firm that is completing the study on behalf of APDSP. “You might think you’re doing well, but when you compare yourself to others, you see that you’re not doing as well as you think. Or vice versa.”
The study is examining key financial metrics across the reprographics industry. The results of the study will include metrics such as revenue per employee; revenue per salesperson; average sales by category; average cost of goods sold by category; return on assets; current ratio; average price of an E-size print; and much more. When possible, these metrics will be further broken down by size of firm and number of employees.
IRgA conducted ratio studies such as these for many years, but the last one was more than a decade ago.
“It’s long past time that we updated the ratio study, and I’m happy that APDSP has the wherewithal to do it this year,” says Ed Avis, APDSP managing director.
The SurveyMonkey link to survey for the report will be sent out next week. Every reprographics firm that returns a completed survey will receive a copy of the report at no cost. That is the only way to receive the report – it will not be otherwise sold or made available. All of the data will be kept secure and only reported in aggregated form; no individual data will be seen by anyone other than those at Graphic Arts Advisors.
